Karen Smith was born in Manchester, Jamaica and emigrated to Florida at the age of 17. She was brought up in a Seventh-Day Adventist home; however, she traces her “Coming to Jesus moment” back to 2005 when she attended a General Conference session and was given a copy of the Incredible Power of Prayer by Roger Morneau. The reading of that little book opened her eyes to the reality that God still answers prayer today just as he did in Biblical times. This realization led her to develop a deeper appreciation for prayer and a determination to seek God’s counsel and guidance in every decision.
Karen taught science at J P Taravella high school in Coral Springs, Florida for 15 years. After leaving the public school system, she taught at NAPS Abundant Life Academy in Sawyerville, Alabama. In addition to teaching, she enjoys reading, trivia, puzzles, and mission work.
Karen’s greatest desire is that God would teach her so that she may teach his precious children his ways. She claims Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way that thou should go: I will guide thee with mine eye” as a personal promise and an assurance of God’s answer to her request.
