Homeschool Credit Transfer Policy
Home school students wishing to transfer to Weimar Academy are highly encouraged to do so. If your high school transcript is from an approved homeschool provider, submit your transcript to the registrar. Please contact the registrar to see if your program is included in the list of approved programs for acceptance of credits without additional documentation.
Below is the process and policy concerning the transfer of high school credits from your own curriculum or a program that is not currently approved by the academy:
Step 1 – Contact the registrar for instructions on how to obtain and fill out the homeschool transcript forms. You can reach the registrar by calling 530-422-7961 or by sending an email to academy@weimar.org. The forms are available on our website at https://weimaracademy.org/admission-documents/.
Step 2 – Complete and submit the Home School Validation Forms. There is an Excel file available to allow you to complete the summary form electronically.
Step 3 – An initial non-binding assessment of forms may be done by the registrar and used as a recommendation to the academic standards committee. The final decision on what credits will be accepted for transfer will be made by this committee after the student successfully completes one semester at Weimar Academy.
Typically, the expected amount of 8me for homeschool credits are:
A full year’s credit for one class = 160 minutes a week for 35 weeks (or equivalent)
A half year’s credit for one class = 80 minutes a week for 35 weeks (or equivalent)
