Last February we discovered that third world conditions can be found right here in the United States less than 15 hour drive away from Weimar. There is a tremendous need among the Native American tribes and we’ve decided to use our mission trip time helping once again. We are going back to Holbrook Indian School in Arizona and will also be helping Pastor Wolcott with his projects in and around Chinle, Arizona.
Holbrook is a Seventh-day Adventist boarding school grades 1-12 specifically designed to nurture Native American youth as they navigate the difficult balance between their heritage and the modern American way of life. The school is primarily supported through donations and volunteer projects, and we have volunteered to provide some of that support. We will be doing construction and repairs at the school. The students will have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus as they work on the projects at the school. They will also be able to share the joy and love of God through music, worship, Health Expos and activities with the local students.
If you doubt the powerful impact offering a helping hand in the community can be, I encourage your to check out what is happening with TCI (https://www.youtube.com/user/weimarmedia ). I know that God is preparing us through our weekly outreach to make an even greater impact that we ever could have before in the Native American communities in and around Chinle.
We crave your prayers as we plan and participate in this trip! There are needs all around us and we are so privileged to be called to help right here in the United States.
