With the beginning of a new school year comes an onslaught of ideas, plans, and possibilities. This year has been no exception. New projects, new activities, and new friends fill every spare moment. But last week, before the chaos of classes took full sway, we were privileged to pause and establish a foundation for the year, welcoming Sean Nebblett as speaker for our semi-annual Week of Prayer.
Before classes each day, students had the opportunity to pray with each other, praising God for His goodness and asking for His guidance and blessing over the year. Following this special prayer time, Sean blessed us with inspirational worships that touched on just the right topics. As humans – especially high-school students – we struggle with issues such as identity, belonging, and purpose. Sean addressed each of these issues with relatable stories and beautiful Scripture texts, instilling in each student the unconditional truth that God is love.
A Spirit-filled communion service and Agape Feast marked the end of Sean’s stay, but also the beginning of a powerful year. “You unconditionally belong to unconditional Love…” Though first spoken nearly a week ago, these words continue to resound in the halls and hearts of our school. Many thanks to Sean for his willingness to be used as a mouth-piece for God!
